Alex G - 'Beach Music'

7/10

Having been a huge cult name for a number of years, Alex G and his distinctive lo-fi sound have remained largely undiscovered. But all that looks to change as the singer-songwriter has now signed a deal with Domino Recordings, and his latest full-length 'Beach Music' has become the most high-profile release of his career.

Fans of his work will hear more of the same, but for those discovering him for the first time, 'Beach Music' will be a glorious listen. With his soft yet echoing voice and steady rhythms, Alex G goes on to prove exactly why he should be the next big thing. Its laid-back attitude and layered fuzziness gives the release an extremely calming feel and makes for smooth and soothing experience.

Definitely one for the surf-heads, Alex G never fails to impress and this latest work is just a continuation of his brilliant songwriting. A true talent that is begging to be heard.
