We spent a lot of time last year discussing the impact bands like Slaves had on the UK's indie scene; turning musicians from quaint darlings to rip-roaring rockstars. So strap in and get ready for another quartet looking to bring to spirit of 1977 back to our ears.
Surrey-based outfit BlackWaters certainly made a impact amongst tastemakers at the end of last year. After their debut single 'So Far Out' received regular rotation on both Radio 1 and RadioX, the band went on to perform at Leeds Festival as part of BBC Introducing, where the buzz around themselves began to take off.
Now with a solid fanbase behind them and a nation-wide tour underway, BlackWaters have returned with a brand new single 'Down'. And much like its predecessor, it is loud, fast and, best of all, massively enjoyable.
'Down' is due to be released on the 3rd February, but until then, check out their debut single 'So Far Out' again in the player below.
