ARTIST OF THE WEEK: No. 56 Georgia

While wanting to create music on your own terms and taking the DIY approach is becoming more common place these days, it never seises to amaze how confident and brilliant some artists are at producing their own work from scratch.

For the best part of two years, Georgia has been producing, writing and recording her own music and after a number of smaller releases, has just unveiled her self-titled debut studio album to a huge and praising reception.

Taking influences from a number of forward-thinking artists such as Björk and Kate Bush, Georgia has managed to create a mixture of transcendent soundscapes with a pop music sensibility that allows her music to not only push the boundaries of contemporary sounds, but make it hugely accessible as well.

While it is still early days for this rising star, she has just been announced for this year's Reading & Leeds Festival and will no doubt become a future festival favourite in the years to come.
