ARTIST OF THE WEEK: No.258 - Abnormal Sleepz

Having spent the last few years building up his reputation as a forward-thinking name in the UK's rap scene, Manchester-based rapper Abnormal Sleepz now looks to cement his legacy as he releases his long-awaited debut album 'Kaleidoscope'.

Following on from his heavily-praised mixtapes ’The Meditape’ and ’The Meditape 2’, which were based on the ’10 paramis’ practised in Buddhist culture, his latest record has become the first hip-hop album to be signed to D&B producer Lenzman’s Amsterdam-based label The North Quarter, adding to the boundaries defying aesthetic that he has always looked to create.

With its jazz and soul influences running throughout, this new collection sees the MC take centre stage amongst a diverse array of largely self-produced productions and allow him croon and weave his way through a heady mix of lo-fi and downtempo directions, all coming together to create a exciting and eclectic debut offering.

'Kaleidoscope' is now available to stream and download from today, and you can check out the video for his first single 'Textures' in the player below.
