Having already established himself with a pair of critically acclaimed EPs, 'So Bright' in 2016 and 'Walking Underwater' in 2018, Sam Wills now returns with his first new single of this year, 'Dimension', which sees him delve back into the future soul/RnB scene he helped to define in the UK.
Making a name for himself as a songwriter for Jorja Smith, Disclosure, Tom Misch and many more, 'Dimension' channels that smooth and sensual vibe you can find throughout his entire catalogue. Melding progressive production with a mild and otherworldly vibe, this new offering is set to become part of a wider project from the frontman as he looks to regain his crown as one of this country's most promising new artists.
Speaking about his new offering, he said, "The starting point for 'Dimension' was the dreamy synth sound Phairo and I came across, playing around in my home studio, that became the foundation for the chords.
"It conjures images of flying through space, and I took that inspiration forward when writing the melodies/lyrics and producing the rest of the track. It’s about getting lost in love, to the point where it feels like a completely new experience, like you’ve tapped into another dimension. This is one of my more electronic based songs, but I love balancing heavy synth sounds with acoustic timbres, and the piano in the outro is my tonic for this song."
