ARTIST OF THE WEEK: No.268 - Orchards

Having already been hailed by Huw Stephens as ‘One To Watch’, as well as finding support from BBC Radio 1, BBC 6Music, Noisey, The Line of Best Fit, Wonderland, DIY, Dork, Upset and more, Brighton-based indie-math-pop outfit Orchards have now returned with the delightfully bright new single 'Sooner'.

As their self-described sound suggests, 'Sooner' is a wonderfully euphoric release that merges the sounds of math-rock and indie-pop in a glorious harmony of sparkling guitars and spritely energy. Sounding like a cross between Haim and Two Door Cinema Club, this new jam continues the glittering dynamic of previous singles ‘Young’ and ‘Mature Me’ with a rousing and upbeat flow.

Speaking about their new offering, the band said, “It's the start of the wormhole into our world. It's reminiscent of days spent drinking on the beach, jumping in the sea to cool off whilst the BBQ tries desperately to light in the Brighton wind! However it's also for the lost connections, for waiting too long, for nostalgic yearning yet coming out the other side and getting right back to that sunny beach. It's the invitation to the party. It's the joyous beginning to our journey that's been 3 years in the making.”

'Sooner' is available to stream and download now, and the band have also announced a series of live dates throughout the UK during April next year. Check out 'Sooner' in the player and see their full list of tour dates below.
