ARTIST OF THE WEEK: No.438 - Dog Food

After breaking through with their vibrant debut single 'Glang Glang' near the start of the year, Hertfordshire-based duo Dog Food are back to their glittering best once again as they deliver their sophomore outing 'Sinister Affair'.

Championing more of that bright and kaleidoscopic indie-rock direction they are quickly cultivating for themselves, 'Sinister Affair' makes for a brilliantly fun and dynamic listen. With its bold and shimmering riffs slowly building into a blistering guitar-driven anthem by its finale, these two are cementing themselves as one of the more exciting names on the rise right now.

Speaking about the new offering, vocalist Brad Palmer explains, "‘Sinister Affair’ is an introduction to the more-shadowy corners of our sound. The freaky guitars, brooding vocals and paranoid lyrical themes all serve to depict the sobering realisation that a previously-worshipped darling isn’t who they appear to be at all. Conceived on a detuned Baritone guitar, the song borrows from the toil and trouble of The Wytches, Alice In Chains and Humbug-era Arctic Monkeys. While this stylistic left hook has the possibility to perturb fans of our previous single, it’s this sort of manic unpredictability that never fails to excite us as listeners."
