Rising Alabama songwriter Jahnah Camille has officially announced her forthcoming EP 'My sunny oath!', out on the 13th June via Winspear, and shared its commanding lead single 'what do you do?', a bold and hook-laden track that showcases the 20-year-old’s raw honesty and magnetic vocal power.
“I wrote this while trying to understand the feeling of losing control,” Jahnah explains. “I was paralyzed by a need to control how other people saw me and needed to write about it.”
The single arrives alongside an arresting music video and marks the first preview of an EP that promises to further cement Jahnah Camille’s place as one of indie music’s most exciting young voices. Following her acclaimed 2024 debut 'i tried to freeze light, but only remember a girl', Camille spent much of the past year sharing stages with Blondshell, Soccer Mommy, Clairo, and TOPS—earning her a reputation for emotionally resonant performances and an unmistakable style.
Recorded with Alex Farrar (Wednesday, Indigo De Souza, MJ Lenderman), My sunny oath! is an unfiltered snapshot of young adulthood. Blending alt-rock grit, lo-fi textures, and flashes of sardonic wit, the EP finds Camille drawing on influences like The Sundays, Liz Phair, Minnie Riperton, and Japanese Breakfast, all while carving out a sound that is uniquely her own.
