ARTIST OF THE WEEK: No.8 Jax Jones

With house music reaching its inevitable zenith in 2014, many producers are looking to prolong the scene's momentum by producing simple yet piano-enriched records. But new producer Jax Jones is cutting his own way into the genre with a fusion of RnB and sun-drenched pop. Since first being picked up by Duke Dumont's Blasé Boys Club label, the beatmaker has seen his profile explode in just a few months.

His first taste of commercial success came in the form of Dumont's number one single 'I Got You', of which Jones was a co-producer. The blend of pounding bass and steel drums gave the track a notably summer feel and it's this influence that the producer has incorporated into his records since. His latest work 'Go Deep' takes the same recipe for sun-laddened house music and slows the tempo right down to add a whole new pace to the record and help showcase his signature sound.

Currently Jones is working his way through the UK's clubbing underground while also making a name for himself in Ibiza with his incredibly likeable style. It may still be early days for this man but considering the momentum he has already managed to gather, we should be hearing a lot more of him in the months to come.
