Beach Slang - 'A Loud Bash Of Teenage Feelings'

8/10

Since Beach Slang released their impressive debut album 'The Things We Do To Find People Who Feel Like Us' near the end of last year, the band has been through some serious turmoil. After appearing to break up live on stage earlier this year, their drummer JP Flexner was asked to leave the group shortly after. So it came as some surprise that the group would not only continue on, but return with a second studio album less than a year after their first.

But despite the upset within the group, it still looks like their heads are firmly on the music as 'A Loud Bash Of Teenage Feelings' continues the same stunning form as their debut. With the overly-distorted vocals of frontman James Alex quickly becoming the signature sound of this outfit, the album plays like a mix of California pop-punk and aggressive rock to create a noise that demands attention.

Engaging and a joy to listen to, this 30-minute full-length sure packs one hell of a punch. And while there seems to be no hint of animosity on this record, it seems that they have managed to work out any problems they were having to create one of this year's best punk records.
