With her highly-anticipated debut album set to drop at the end of the month, Billie Eilish has now unveiled the next cut to be lifted from her forthcoming full-length.
The new single 'wish you were gay' was premiered on Zane Lowe's Beats 1 radio show last night (4th March), and follows on from the previously shared track 'bury a friend' in previewing her eagerly-awaited debut LP ‘WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?’, which is due to arrive on the 29th March via Polydor.,
Speaking about her new release, the frontwoman added, “‘wish you were gay’ is about wanting to be with someone so bad it hurts, and not wanting to accept that this person doesn’t want you in return,” she says of the track. “At least if they were gay, I’d have a valid reason for their rejection and lack of interest in being with me. I wrote the song when I was 14 and madly in love with a boy. It’s supposed to be a fun and playful way at dealing with rejection.”
