Bloomfield Machine - 'Suiteness'

7/10

Ever since he first emerged with his breakthrough debut LP 'Arguing With Success' in 2017, US artist Bloomfield Machine has quickly established himself as one of the more prolific names doing the rounds right now. Turning out a flurry of new records in the years since, sometimes more than once a year, he has created this brilliantly broad and lofty aesthetic that always looks to progress from what came before. And as his much-loved 2023 release 'Left To Our Own Devices' continued that trend, he is now back once again to deliver his dynamic new studio album 'Suiteness', a record bustling with bright and diverse ideas.

Exploring a more varied approach to his instrumentation this time around, 'Suiteness' comes across as a far calmer and more atmospheric offering than many of his previous endeavours. Creating these beautifully rich and sprawling soundscapes that seem to flow with a progressive energy from start to finish, his newest sixteen-track collection finds him in a wonderfully explorative guise, one that pushes the boundaries of his direction throughout and offers up some of his more adventurous efforts to date.

While there has hardly been a time in which he has treated us to something new over the years, 'Suiteness' shows there is still plenty of fresh innovation coursing through him right now. Maintaining that experimental nature he has earned a reputation for, Bloomfield Machine continues to excite and mesmerise across this vibrant new delight.
