Canned Pineapple unveil new single 'Elvis'

Brighton's indie-rock risers Canned Pineapple have revealed their infectious new single 'Elvis', the latest preview of their upcoming EP 'Big Break', set for release March 21st.

Produced by Tom Rees (Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard/The Bug Club/Panic Shack), 'Elvis' perfectly embodies the band's talent for blending scuzzy power-pop with sharp, witty lyricism. Built around sprawling, fuzzy guitars and drawing influence from psychedelia and nostalgic doo-wop, the track showcases their signature blend of post-punk energy and radio-ready hooks.

"'Elvis' was written as a sort of sequel to one of our collective favourite songs 'Alison' by Elvis Costello," the band explains. "A song about Costello running into an ex-lover and having a new husband. We thought it was funny the idea of Seán being Alison's new husband as sometimes he gets comments about looking like Costello with the glasses and suit y'know. Maybe Alison is only married to Seán because she never got over Costello. Poor Seán but... Who could blame her!"

Since making waves at New York's New Colossus Festival in 2024, the four-piece have enjoyed a meteoric rise, sharing stages with LCD Soundsystem, The National, and The Last Dinner Party, while earning widespread acclaim from BBC Radio 6 Music and press tastemakers alike. With an extensive touring schedule lined up through 2024 and early 2025, including appearances at FiftyLab Festival and Third Man Records, Canned Pineapple continue to cement their reputation as one of the UK's most exciting emerging acts.

'Elvis' is available now, with the 'Big Break' EP arriving March 21st.
