Carnival Youth announce new single 'Words Like Birds'

Latvian teenagers Carnival Youth return to the UK for two shows at Liverpool Sound City alongside supporting single ‘Words Like Birds’.

Previous tracks ‘Never Have Enough’ and ‘Octopus’ have gathered support from 6 Music’s Steve Lamacq, Huw Stephens on Radio 1, John Kennedy on XFM, and Jim Gellatly on Amazing Radio, as well as fans in Artrocker, The Guardian & Drowned in Sound.

The fresh faced hopefuls demonstrate an artful fusion of the ascetics of folk music with an alternative indie-pop edge; drawing comparisons to the likes of Bombay Bicycle Club. The band have already performed around Europe at leading international showcases and major festivals including The Great Escape, Reeperbahn, Waves Vienna, Tallinn Music Week, Sziget, Positivus, & Open’er Festival, as well as a headline spot at Koko, London for Club NME.

Carnival Youth perform the following shows at Liverpool Sound City, and will release their debut album 'No Clouds Allowed' in the UK this summer. Have a listen to 'Words Like Birds' and see their Liverpool Sound City dates below.

Thu 21 May – Conference Main Stage, Titanic Hotel, Liverpool Sound City
