Circa Waves - 'Young Chasers'

7/10

After spending much of 2014 being named as one of the best new names in British music, Circa Waves have finally delivered their debut album 'Young Chasers'. Having previously readied fans with an EP of the same name last year, this new full-length looks to cement the hype that the Liverpudlian four-piece have received over the last 12 months and it looks like their appeal has been more than justified.

While much of the record can be compared quite easily to other British indie outfits like Arctic Monkeys and The Libertines, the Circa Waves sound has a more positive attitude throughout this full-length and makes for a more uplifting listen. Not a single track on the record breaks the four-minute mark, making the whole album an easily digestible collection of indie pop ditties that are designed to simply bring joy to your day.

After just a few tracks, it is easy to hear why these guys have managed to gain the reputation they have. Their lack of pretence and glossy approach to songwriting keeps the album always on a high vibe and creates an enjoyable escape for those just looking to enjoy themselves.
