Daft Punk to be the subject of new documentary

French subscription channel Canal Plus have commissioned BBC Worldwide to make an hour-long documentary about the world's most elusive robotic pair Daft Punk.

The documentary was first announced at the non-fiction conference Sunny Side and is the first time that BBC Worldwide have been asked to produce content for the Canal Plus channel.

It is said to cover the twenty year career of the production duo, Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo; starting at their humble beginnings going through to their record-breaking 2013 album 'Random Access Memories', and is expected to be aired sometime in 2015.

Jean-Louis Blot, head of BBC Worldwide Productions France, said: "We are proud to announce our first commission with Canal Plus Group on such an original and creative film. BBC Worldwide France stands as a major French producer of documentaries with stunning production values and universal appeal."
