D'Angelo releases surprise new album 'Black Messiah'

Having been almost one year to the day since Beyonce released her self-titled surprise album, RnB veteran D'Angelo has just done the exact same, except this is his first record in over 14 years.

Having spent the weekend holding listening parties for some of his new material, the new full-length album was unveiled on Spotify and iTunes earlier today and features the already unveiled singles 'Suagh Daddy' and 'Really Love'.

Explaining his reasons for the sudden release, D'Angelo said, “It’s about people rising up in Ferguson and in Egypt and in Occupy Wall Street and in every place where a community has had enough and decides to make change happen... It’s not about praising one charismatic leader but celebrating thousands of them.”
