Georgia Ray - 'No One's Calling'

7/10

Ever since she first emerged, Australian singer-songwriter Georgia May has been seen as one of the more progressive names on the underground pop scene. Dabbling in a heady mix of folk and conventional mainstreams appeals throughout her glittering tenure, she has been busy cementing herself as a wondrous name on the rise in recent years. And after another stellar year in fine form, she sees out 2023 with her latest EP 'No One's Calling', a release brimming with heartfelt textures throughout.

Very much sticking to the same innovative avenue she has been pursuing recently, 'No One's Calling' marks another vital step forward within her musical evolution to date. Featuring the previously shared anthems 'Hypnotherapy' and 'Regret It', this new four-track collection brings out some of her most emotive songwriting to date, building upon an already accomplished foundation with style and aplomb from beginning to end.

She may still be skirting the peripheries of the commercial landscape right now, but with songs this good, it only feels like a matter of time before Georgia May breaks through across the globe. Rich and passionate as often as possible, 'No One's Calling' is a firm and solid return from an artist very much on the rise right now.
