What was the first instrument you fell in love with?

Piano. I started playing at the age of 3 as one of my two extracurricular activities because my grandma thought I was ‘bored’ lol.

What kind of music did you love when you were younger?

Pop rock, pop punk, all the emo bands! And everything on Disney Channel, really.

What was the first album you remember owning?

Probably the Camp Rock album? I don’t really remember hahaha.

What is the one song you wished you could have written yourself?

My Chemical Romance - Welcome to the Black Parade. The songwriting, the production, the story. Everything is perfect and I wish I had half the talent they have.

Do you have any habits or rituals you go through when trying to write new music?

It depends on the day. I like to begin by laying down the chord progression on the piano, the guitar, or Logic Pro. Following that, I start structuring the song – some might not care about this, but I do because I'm a bit of a control freak (lol) – and then I create a melody, sing in gibberish, and come up with lyrics. However, this entire process can be completely reversed when I feel like it.

Who are your favourite artists you have found yourself listening to at the moment?

Chase Atlantic, Fall Out Boy, Sabrina Carpenter.

If you could open a show for anyone in the world, who would it be?

Tough question. Demi Lovato maybe? She was one of the people who inspired me to pursue music.

What do you find is the most rewarding part about being a musician?

Seeing the crowd having a good time rocking out to my songs at live shows, receiving encouraging messages from my listeners, and the sense of achievement from knowing I'm constantly learning every day, getting better, and doing something I love.

And what is the most frustrating part?

Promo, it’s a bit distracting having to constantly make social media content. Sometimes I just want to write songs.

And what is the best piece of advice you have received as a musician?

Learn to produce, be self-sustainable. Now I love the independence it gives me- I can produce music just the way I like it!
