Grizfolk - 'Sign Of The Times'

8/10

Ever since they emerged almost a decade ago, Grizfolk have always been seen as one of the more adventurous names on the new music scene. With a sound that looks to spread itself all the way from humbled folk textures to roaring alt-rock energy, their tenure to date has been this wildly creative ride that has only heightened their impeccable reputation over the years. And with 2023 producing some brilliantly alluring delights, they have now looked to cement this era within their direction with the new EP 'Sign Of The Times', a release brimming with more of that diverse nature they have been cultivating of late.

Although four of the five tracks listed on this new collection were available to stream prior to its release, it doesn't take any from just how fresh and immersive 'Sign Of The Times' comes across. Exploring some beautifully enigmatic aesthetics that bring a new sense of life to their progressive endeavours these last few years, this new EP builds upon their already impressive repertoire to date and sees them venture towards the next phase within their musical evolution with every track.

While it has been almost three years since their last studio album, if there is one on the horizon, then 'Sign Of The Times' certainly gives us a solid insight into what they are planning with it. Captivating and engaging at every turn, Grizfolk return to the fold with some of their finest work to date here.
