With their eagerly-awaited new album landing at the end of next month, The Hold Steady have now unveiled the next cut to be lifted from their forthcoming full-length.
The new single 'Sixers' follows on from the previously shared lead track 'Sideways Skull' in previewing their ninth LP 'The Price Of Progress', which is set to be released on the 31st March on their own Positive Jams label via Thirty Tigers.
Speaking about the new offering, frontman Craig Finn said, “‘Sixers’ was written in the first days of the pandemic. It’s basically a song about knowing your neighbors. Two young professionals meet up in their building late on a Friday night and spend the weekend partying together. They try to find a love connection, but it’s not quite there. It’s hard to make friends when your job is so demanding. Tad and Steve chime in with some beautiful guitar harmonies.”
