Jade Bird returns with new single 'Who Wants'

Jade Bird has now made her highly-anticipated return with 'Who Wants', a deeply personal track that has been years in the making. Originally started when she was just 16, in the wake of her parents’ separation, the song captures the pain of losing oneself in a relationship and the lingering echoes of love, loss, and grief that pass through generations.

With Jade’s powerful voice front and centre, the track is delicately shaped by a subtle acoustic melody, allowing its raw emotion to shine through. It marks her first new solo music since her 'Burn The Hard Drive' EP, a collaborative release with Mura Masa in spring 2024, which saw her exploring themes of closure and transformation.

Speaking about 'Who Wants', Jade explains, “I wrote this about divorce. It’s about the symptoms of a broken relationship that you don’t advertise or want to talk about. Staying inside the shell or ghost of what once was, while mourning what could have been.”
