John Carpenter announces live shows at ATP Iceland 2016

For the first time ever, filmmaker John Carpenter plans to perform his scores during a live show at ATP Iceland next year.

The director, who is best known for films like The Thing, Halloween, Escape From New York, The Fog and many more, always writes and performs the soundtracks to all of his films and last year released 'Lost Themes', a collection of music that never made the big screen.

ATP’s Barry Hogan commented on the booking: “We are incredibly honoured to present the first ever show by this legendary film-maker and composer. Having had the opportunity to present the maestro Ennio Morricone twice in recent years, it has been a burning ambition of ours to also present John Carpenter, who is both a pioneer and a huge influence on us and so many great musicians and film-makers that we work with. You'd be fucking crazy to miss this.”

ATP Iceland will take place at Ásbrú, a former NATO base in Keflavík, on 1st-3rd July 2016, with tickets available here.
