Mindless Crowd - 'Wanderlust'

7/10

Ever since breaking through with their much-loved debut EP 'A Drop Of Morality' last year, Swiss outfit Mindless Crowd have found themselves as one of the more uplifting names doing the rounds in the months since. Opting for a brighter and more euphoric appeal than many of their peers, they have quickly established themselves within their rich and emotive guise to date. And after another impactful flurry of gems under their belt already, they return once again to unveil their hotly-tipped debut album 'Wanderlust', a record that looks to continue that vibrant streak they have been on until now.

Moving much in the same vein as their original material, 'Wanderlust' makes for this beautifully warm and endearing listen as it plays. Capturing another heady dose of riveting rhythms and swaggering guitar hooks across all of its twelve tracks, the band offer up some wonderfully sweet and immersive delights that look to build upon those enigmatic foundations they originally laid for themselves. Matching the same effervescent aesthetic as The War On Drugs or The National, this new collection finds them in a brilliantly progressive spirit throughout.

It may still be early days within their career so far, but 'Wanderlust' already feels like a strong and commanding step forward for their sound so far. Brimming with this elegant flow from beginning to end, Mindless Crowd remain one of the more innovative names on the rise right now.
