The New Professionals - 'Come Here Creature'

7/10

Since breaking through with their much-loved self-titled debut LP in 2021, New York-based outfit The New Professionals have looked to establish their presence as one of the more progressive names in the indie-rock field. Taking cues from the more ethereal and atmospheric players on the scene, they have been slowly building momentum behind their progressive direction these last few years. And after the rousing response to their comeback single 'Come And Get It' earlier this year, they are now back once again to unveil their hotly-tipped sophomore album 'Come Here Creature', a record that looks to continue that innovative streak of theirs.

Moving much in the same vein as their initial full-length, 'Come Here Creature' looks to pursue an incredibly rich and riveting aesthetic. Adopting this smooth and swaggering groove across all thirteen of its immersive offerings, their newest endeavour finds them in wonderfully explorative spirits as they look to build upon the dynamic foundations of their earlier material. Creating this brilliantly absorbing atmosphere as it plays, The New Professionals are certainly looking to push the boundaries of their sound here, something that pays off very regularly.

It is certainly a strong and confident return for the group, with 'Come Here Creature' offering up some of their more inventive and adventurous work yet. Brimming with this creative flair from start to finish, they remain a firm and focused addition to New York's underground scene right now.
