Peaches - 'Rub'

7/10

It has been six years since we last heard a full-length album from the ever noticeable Peaches and her comeback looks to pick up exactly where she left off. While it is fair to say that electronic music has been on an incredible journey over the last six years, Peaches hasn't been keeping her head in the sand over that time as this new release not only sounds relevant, but also gives the impression that she never left us.

While the record is filled with the usual crude obscenities, note 'Dick In The Air' and 'How You Like My Cut', the confidence she has in her own style seems to have matured just as much as her musical direction. Previously, much of her albums were about shock value, but this one seems more about created a solid body of work that fits her new fully-formed attitude. Its diversity and quality production are a sign that Peaches is far from the end of her game.

It is definitely an accomplished release with that harsh Peaches sound running throughout. But with that added hit of commitment within its structure, you can tell that this comeback still has a few rounds left to fire.
