Pope Francis - 'Wake Up!'

6/10

While the idea of the Supreme Pontiff releasing an album of religious verses is nothing unusual, what is different about Pope Francis' attempt is his willingness to engage with others by making it an incredibly diverse release. Mainly a prog rock one.

Mixing his own speeches with a progressive backdrop, filled with huge amounts of cultural influences, 'Wake Up!' is one of those albums that you really need to hear to believe it. And while the Argentine's verses may go over the head's of most, you have to admire the medium in which he has tried to get them across as soon you'll find yourself indulging massively in the cheesy musically accompaniment.

If it wasn't for the novelty factor, this would be just another looked over release, but the Papal's involvement not only gives it huge gravitas, but also opens up your own preconceptions about Pope Francis, and will surely begins to see him in a different light.
