Quality Living - 'Aggro Crag'

7/10

Ever since they first broke through with their highly-praised self-titled debut album in 2016, US outfit Quality Living have always been ones to explore a more harmonious aesthetic than many of their peers. Creating these incredibly warm and alluring textures within everything they do, their place on the scene became fully established with their renowned sophomore LP 'Something Softly Caught Me' in 2020. And after another vibrant run of singles throughout last year, they are now back for 2024 with their wondrous new EP 'Aggro Crag', a collection that builds upon their illustrious tenure to date.

Keeping very much akin to that warm and woozy direction they have always occupied, 'Aggro Crag' makes for an incredibly rich and inviting listen. With each of its four tracks offering up a sweet and tender texture for us to sink our teeth into, their latest offering sits as one of their more progressive to date. With tracks like 'The Great Kabash' honing more of that wistful energy they are known for, Quality Living have delivered a truly awe-inspiring array of laid-back grooves here.

It may have come after an incredibly prolific streak within their career to date, but 'Aggro Crag' is still brimming with plenty of fresh and fascinating ideas throughout. Moving with this soft and subtle grace as it plays, they are certainly looking to sweep us off our feet with this one.
