After pumping out the odd single here and there for the best part of three years, Swedish twin sisters Say Lou Lou have finally bitten the bullet and released their first studio album. Their output so far has been a mix of glorious and atmospheric harmonies with the odd upbeat pop anthem, showing a great diversity within the duo's sound, which has been well encapsulated within this debut release.
With the previously released singles 'Julian' and the brilliantly infectious, Lindstrøm-produced banger 'Games For Girls' holding the stand-out positions on this new full-length, the rest of the album does a fantastic job in keeping the flow and pace of the record in an upward trajectory to make this release an easy to digest and highly enjoyable collection. Their soft yet soaring vocals have this almost hypnotic feel that aids the warm and positive feeling you get from the album's production.
With elements of other contemporary acts like Ellie Goulding and Chvrches squeezed into their overall sound, 'Lucid Dreaming' is an emphatic new release with all the direction and hallmarks of a duo who know what they want to create.
