SPRINTS - 'Letter To Self'

7/10

Over the last few years, Dublin-based outfit SPRINTS have been one of the more exciting names on the rise. With a notorious attitude for raw and driven punk-inspired anthems that always seek a unique and distinctive edge for them, the four-piece have quickly earned a reputation as a bundling ball of energy that rarely looks to slow down. And after a flurry of releases under their belt already, they now cement their vibrant legacy to date with the release of their eagerly-awaited debut album 'Letter To Self', a record brimming with more of that unbridled tenacity.

While their output to date has certainly been an electrifying one, 'Letter To Self' builds upon that glorious tenure to date with style and aplomb throughout. While not as progressive or forward-thinking as some of their more impactful efforts, this new collection aims to highlight the more kinetic side to their sound. Adopting a quiet-loud-quiet formula to most of these offerings, they are kicking off their new year with an explosive initial full-length here.

SPRINTS have been one of many grizzled names to have emerged from Ireland in recent years, but 'Letter To Self' shows their contemporaries that they are very much looking to lead the charge on this new revolution. Brimming with a shining and passionate flow throughout, it almost feels like they are just warming top right now.
