With nearly a decade of releasing music under his belt, Jack Tatum aka Wild Nothing has found himself in a nostalgic mood when it comes to his current influences, but has also sees him obsessing over technology and our need to extend ourselves through advancement. This has led to the almost juxtaposed fourth studio 'Indigo', a record that has the style of music gone by, but seems to focus its content on the modern and post-modern world.

When it comes to the sound of this new release, Tatum seems to want to ignite the fire and passion found on his 2010 debut album 'Gemini'. With a strong inspiration from artists like Roxy Music and Fleetwood Mac, 'Indigo' sees the frontman not only borrowing from his own past but the triggers that started his love affair with music as well. Yet despite so much focus on past accomplishments, the record sets itself as a homage to the progression of recorded sound itself, where he makes great use of production and instrumentation to create a collection of tracks that all seem to embolden his own songwriting into something more than just your traditional stereo release.

And while it all makes for a great listen, sometimes there are moments where he gets too carried away with his intentions, which sometimes makes the record a little too diverse to be enjoyed from start to finish. But despite that, 'Indigo' is thoroughly enjoyable release that keeps the Wild Nothing sound moving ever forward.
