Wolfmother - 'Victorious'

6/10

There are very few constants these days, but one thing you can rely on never changing is Aussie rock outfit Wolfmother. While their lack progression throughout their decade-long career could be seen as a hinderance, at this stage it has become nothing but admirable and charming in some way. Returning with their fourth studio album (and yet another line-up alteration), the trio have stuck to their guns once again to deliver another half-an-hour of pure rock glory.

While they have never been the most memorable of bands, when you are listening to their work, you can't help but get swept away with the fun and energy of it. Stunning guitar breakdowns, stadium rock ballads and drum solos aplenty; this album has it all. Yet despite its enjoyable nature, it still suffers from a lack of recall. Even after just listening to it from start to finish, there is next to nothing I can remember solidly from it.

Basically, if you have enjoyed anything by Wolfmother before, then you'll definitely like this. It has very little to distinguish itself from previous releases and just fits the formula the band have been peddling their entire career. Wolfmother by numbers.
