Anna Of The North - 'Crazy Life'

7/10

Ever since she first emerged with her stunning debut LP 'Lovers' in 2017, Norwegian alt-pop artist Anna Of The North has been one of the few names on the scene to really evolve the direction of modern pop music. While her Scandinavian homeland has been ripe with fresh and inventive artists permeating the international zeitgeist in recent years, Anna Of The North has remained largely subtle within her sound, adopting warm and enticing concepts that always create a forward-thinking texture. Now after a few years to figure out her next move, she returns with her third studio album 'Crazy Life', a record that looks to continue that vibrant ascent.

While she has not looked to break down too many barriers within her aesthetic once again, 'Crazy Life' still makes for a wonderfully rich and inviting listen. Continuing that adventurous ideal of shimmering tones and an electrifying pace throughout, her newest offering marks another bold and confident addition to her repertoire. Although it may not have the same instant bite as her last outing 'Dream Girl', there are still plenty of rousing moments to get swept away with, delivering a bright and euphoric array of gems as often as possible.

Anna Of The North has always been one to explore new and innovative ventures, and 'Crazy Life' feels no different. While her tone feels a bit more measured this time around, she is still maintaining her reputation as one of the more exciting names doing the rounds right now.
