Another Sky - 'Beach Day'

8/10

During the build-up to their highly-praised debut LP 'I Slept On The Floor' in 2020, Another Sky were seen as one of the more exciting names on the rise throughout the UK's new music scene. With a beautifully warm and effervescent aesthetic combined with some truly awe-inspiring textures, they quickly found an avenue into the mainstream with their broad and sprawling post-rock-inspired delights. And after a few years of delays and apprehension, they are finally back to release their long-awaited sophomore album 'Beach Day', a record that looks to revive those initial ideals.

Much like what their initial efforts showed us, 'Beach Day' looks to create this beautifully alluring atmosphere right from the start. While they seem more keen in developing a more diverse and explorative direction this time around, they are still managing to approach this new offering with all the same confidence they emerged with, resulting in some brilliantly wild and adventurous additions that continue to push their sound ever forward.

It may have taken longer than we would have wanted to finally arrive, but 'Beach Day' is certainly worth the extended wait. Brimming with this rich and immersive aesthetic throughout its varied identity, Another Sky reestablish themselves as one of this country's more dynamic acts once again.
