Since the emerging popularity of artists such as Gregory Porter and Ghostpoet, jazz has begun to find its way into the mainstream over the last few years. Allowing acts like XamVolo to rise up and have his sound heard by a huge larger audience.
While already making waves in his own community since the release of his debut EP 'The Closing Scene' earlier this year, the tracks that the young 22-year-old has been releasing since have begun to get the attention of many UK tastemakers including Annie Mac and Spotify, who recently added him to their "Fresh Finds" playlist.
His latest single 'Down' has this rich and incredible soulful quality about it. Bringing his vocals to the forefront of the record, XamVolo shows that he not only has the voice to change the entire dynamic of a song, but also the writing talent to create a truly memorable piece.
XamVolo will play his first official headline dates later this year when he shoots to London's Waiting Room on the 19th September, before heading to Liverpool to play The Magnet on the 20th September. Have a listen to 'Down' in the player below.
