For most of this summer, Toronto based producer Pusher has been teasing us with his debut EP 'New Laces'. But just like any budding beatmaker, this new release is filled with more surprises than most.
Having gathered a huge amount of acclaim for its lead single 'Clear' (featuring the New York-based vocalist Mothica) with its contemporary pop production, the rest of the EP shows that the producer is far from a one-trick-pony. Describing his style as "neon", the variety of styles and influences on this short six-track release is astounding.
With a clear focus on the various hip-hop styles, including trap and grime, 'New Laces' is one of the most unique releases we have heard in a longtime, and will no doubt see him rubbing shoulders with contemporaries like Flume and AlunaGeorge very soon.
Pusher's 'New Laces' EP is available now and you can check out a highlight of that release in the player below.
