ARTIST OF THE WEEK: No. 117 Day Wave

After first emerging on the scene back in 2015 with his breakthrough single 'Drag', multi-instrumentalist Jackson Philips aka Day Wave has had a colossal year. With support and exposure for his debut track from BBC Radio 1, 6 Music, Absolute, The Guardian, NME and many more, Philips followed up the hype with two new EPs, 2015's 'Headcase' and this year's 'Hard To Read'.

And now he has returned almost instantly with the ironically titled 'Wasting Time', something we know that he certainly hasn't been. This new track has brought out the best in the Day Wave sound, with its lucid guitar work and poetic vocals, the frontman has truly outdone himself this time around with a majestic and breathtaking release.

Day Wave has spent much of the last year on the road, performing at SXSW and other places around the US, where he is currently still on tour but is planning to return to the UK for a run of shows in 2017.
