After practically breaking the internet in the US last year with her collaboration with popular American singer-songwriter Gnash 'i hate u i love u', 17-year-old singer Olivia O'Brien has now set her sights on international stardom with the release of her latest single that sheds a harsh light on the narcissism and self-loathing that plagues today's youth.
The teenage vocalist first release of the year 'Empty' shows that this girl is more than just another singer, but is also a dab-hand at rapping as well. Her strong and powerful voice moves effortlessly over a wave of bold yet minimal production, and seems to show the confidence and skill of an artist that has been doing this for years.
While she has yet to release anything other than the odd single for the last couple of years, it seems that this may be the first indication of the singer's plans to release either a new EP or album later this year. But for now, we'll just have to make do with this brilliant new song.
