Folk music may have taken a repuational hit in the past decade, thanks to a number of watered-down individuals peddling the genre for a cheap buck. But on the underground, the scene is thriving once again, and one of its newest additions looks to be making a storm from the very start.
Unlike other contemporary acts looking to update the sound, Solomon's Seal is a very traditional kind of songwriter. Taking inspiration from the birth of the folk genre, he delivers his swooning debut single 'O, My God', a love letter to his given direction.
With its almost eight-minute running time, the frontman gives himself plenty of room to move and swell on his first release. Keeping a very stripped-back style with an echoed production, this new serenade breathes a wealth of beauty and soul that we just can't seem to get enough of.
