This year has thrown up a great batch of new artists that we can see doing very big things in the year to come, and just as it looks like its wrapping up, emerging newcomer Joshua Speers throws us one of the best and most engaging debut singles of the year.
Produced by Lars Stalfors (St. Vincent, Lil Peep, Bob Moses) and Andy Seltzer, the Delaware native's first track 'Bad Night' captures that heartfelt and honest style of songwriting that has already led many to compare him to the likes of Bruce Springsteen and The War On Drugs. With its pulsing production and euphoric aesthetic, 'Bad Night' looks set to be the first of many great releases we can expect from the young frontman in 2019.
Speaking about the new track, Speers said, “'Bad Night' is about embracing anxiety and fear in order to overcome that darkness. It’s a loud, windows-down response to my demons--daring them to bring me down."
