After making a grand entrance last year with their heavily praised debut EP 'Forget Yourself', Another Sky are now looking to be one of the most hotly-tipped bands for the year ahead, after the release of their latest single.
The new track 'Apple Tree' was given its premiere on Annie Mac's Radio 1 show earlier this week, and sees the band on superbly stellar form. Following on from their previous cut 'Chillers', the band seem at ease with a laid-back dynamic that also suits their bold and vibrant nature, conjuring comparisons to the likes of Wolf Alice as well as classic shoegaze groups such as Slowdive.
Speaking about the new track, vocalist Catrin Vincent said, “Apple Tree is the story of a boy I knew growing up who was bullied for talking to daffodils. I always admired him. The song celebrates feminine men, because I don’t believe being feminine is exclusive to being a woman. We spent some time last year on the Isle of Wight at Chale Abbey Studios. The song was written and recorded there.”
Another Sky will be embarking on an extensive UK tour in February, and you can check out the brilliant new video for 'Apple Tree' in the player below.
