With 2014 firmly named as the year of the male solo artist, thanks to the emergence of George Ezra and Sam Smith, this new year has begun with an overwhelming number of new frontman looking to add their own impact into British music. One of which is the crooning yet humble Jack Garratt.
With a voice of silk and a beard of wool, Garratt’s presence on the scene has erupted over the last few months. Having released his debut EP ‘Remnants’ at the end of last year, the Buckinghamshire lad has found himself supporting the likes of Ben Howard on his latest UK tour as well as regular rotation on BBC Radio 1.
And while it is still early days for him, his prolific approach to new output has already allowed him to become one of this year’s most anticipated new acts.
Despite only having a handful of material to his name so far, the sheer quality of it has been superb. You can listen to his latest single ‘The Love You’re Given’ in the player below and judge for yourself.
