Following on from the love and praise they received for their 2019 EP 'Circuit' around this time last year, Cambridgeshire-based outfit Deep City return for the new year with the release of a wonderfully expansive new single 'Joyride'.
Inspired by that unstoppable feeling of being young and foolish, 'Joyride' sees the indie-pop four-piece follow in the footsteps of the likes of Neon Indian and Toro Y Moi to deliver a broad and euphoric new offering, drenched in those wistful 80s power-pop aesthetics.
Speaking about their new cut, the band said, “We wanted to go for a clean, choppy sound that was Prince-esqe.. Joyride is a more guitar driven track, and a step into a cleaner and stylised direction after experimenting with different electronic styles.”
'Joyride' is available to stream and download now, with the band expected to release much more new music this year. Have a listen to 'Joyride' in the player below.
