After spending the last few years building and developing their sound, Amsterdam-based sisters Sarah & Julia Nauta now look to introduce themselves as Sarah Julia as they deliver their poignant debut single 'Cairngorms'.
Honing a beautifully rich and tender aesthetic for their initial outing, 'Cairngorms' makes for a wondrous introduction to the pair's sound. Taking inspiration from the likes of Joni Mitchell, Phoebe Bridgers, and Big Thief, they sweep and swoon their way through this mesmerising new delight, charming and serenading us throughout.
Speaking about the new offering, they said, “The Cairngorms are a place our dad used to take us hiking when we were younger. It holds a memory of a version of him that we try to hold on to. While writing the song, we felt a new phase unfolding, where forgiveness led the way. When you find yourself stuck in repetitive thoughts at home, the Cairngorms manage to drown them out.”
