After spending the last few months building and cultivating their sound, British duo MRCY are now ready to introduce themselves to the wider world as they release their stunning debut single 'Lorelei'.
Honing a beautifully warm and illuminating soul aesthetic for their initial offering, 'Lorelei' makes for a powerful introduction to their sound so far. With its rich and tender textures, dreamy atmosphere, and captivating vocals layered throughout, they are certainly looking to turn some heads with this vibrant opening number.
Speaking about the new offering, singer Kojo Degraft-Johnson said, “Lorelei’ is about being in a romantic situation that you know will result in heartbreak, but you’re too under the spell to get out of it. The lyrics come from the ancient tale of Lorelei, a mythical creature that leads navigators and those sailing to their demise with its beauty and song - “I thought I saw you walking by the river side” and “the summer storm’s still on my mind.”
