ARTIST OF THE WEEK: No.501 - Michael B Thomas

Having already made his mark as the keys player for indie-rock troubadours Eades in recent years, Leeds-based artist Michael B Thomas is continuing to pursue his solo project with his breezy new single 'Relationship Advice'.

Marking his first release through Mahogany Songs, 'Relationship Advice' makes for a beautifully rich and alluring listen throughout. With its warm and sweeping textures perfectly elevating his dreamlike vocals from start to finish, he continues to rise as one of the more exciting names doing the rounds right now.

Adding about his new release, he said, "Through the haze of fading connections and the search for self-understanding, 'Relationship Advice' delves into the modern struggle of projecting insecurities and seeking clarity. I think I tried to poignantly capture the essence of not just myself navigating through my mid to late twenties, but also my friends and the different relationships that come and go within this time. It’s a time when many of us are unsure of what’s really going on, highlighting the necessity of self-healing before worrying about the future with someone else.

"I really tried to channel my inner George Harrison on 'Relationship Advice'. I was massively into his 'All Things Must Pass' album at the time of writing, and was inspired by the introspectiveness of this record. I feel ‘Relationship Advice' captures the essence of self-discovery and the inevitable passage of time, reflecting Harrison's influence on my journey through the complexities of modern relationships and personal growth."
