Baydream - 'Cosmos'

7/10

Earlier this year, emerging artist and producer Baydream released their stunning initial offerings 'Peasants' and 'The Flame', two singles that set the stage for their warm and immersive aesthetic. With a broad and shimmering approach to production, the artist quickly maintained a strong and alluring presence on the new music scene, rising as a true visionary doing the rounds. And after that strong start, they return with their debut EP 'Cosmos', a release that looks to build upon those initial foundations.

Much like their earlier material, 'Cosmos' explores more of that rich and woozy direction they are looking to earn a reputation for. Dabbling in some beautifully warped yet endearing directions throughout, this new four-track collection makes for a brilliantly smooth and breezy listen, highlighting yet more of their vibrant songwriting once again. While each of these new outings look to follow a similar vein, there is still plenty of diverse appeal packed in here, giving it a succinct but still eclectic sound.

Things may still be very much in their infancy for Baydream, but 'Cosmos' shows that they still have plenty of fresh and enchanting ideas in which to explore. With a bold and innovative pursuit from start to finish, they are definitely one to keep a firm eye on for the months ahead as well.
