Bee Eigen - 'Sanguine'

8/10

Over these last few years, US singer-songwriter Bee Eigen has been busy crafting a warm and luxurious aesthetic to call her own. Following the trodded path of many artists within the indie-folk arena, her style has adopted this richer and more heartfelt approach than many in her field, creating this beautifully transcendent feel with everything she does. And after a heady run of gems recently, she is now looking to cement her impactful legacy to date with her enchanting debut EP 'Sanguine', a collection brimming with tender emotion throughout.

Offering up an entirely new array of delights for her initial EP, 'Sanguine' makes for a wonderfully sweet and enchanting listen right from the off. Coupling her shimmering vocal style with a largely stripped-back acoustic-led production across its four tracks, her newest endeavour adds a strong progression to her direction to date as she looks to inject some more sombre moments to it. Very much akin to what she has been showcasing so far, this new release finds her in strong and confident spirits at every turn, delivering some of her most spellbinding efforts to date.

Plenty has already been said about her innovative intentions over the years, but 'Sanguine' feels like the dawn of a whole new era for Bee Eigen. Crafting these brilliantly intricate compositions as often as possible, she is definitely one to keep a firm eye on for the months ahead as well.
