Bending Grid - 'Parallax'

7/10

Over the last few years, South Carolina-based producer Bending Grid has been on an incredibly diverse and enigmatic run. Delivering a wealth of shimmering delights that look to invite a multitude of different genres and influences together, his tenure to date has been a wildly explorative one, cementing him as one of the more innovative names doing the rounds right now. And after plenty of praise and acclaim for his recent material, he returns with his sprawling double album 'Parallax', a record that builds upon those vibrant foundations once again.

Featuring a flurry of ten guest artists to contribute their own unique flair to the release, this broad and immersive twenty-track collection makes for an incredibly bold and expressive listen. With nods to synthwave, electro-pop, and conventional pop songwriting layered throughout, 'Parallax' is an ambitious yet captivating listen. With such an effortless approach to his production that sees each track move purposefully into the next, he continues his reign as a truly unique name on the rise today.

'Parallax' is clearly the conception of an artist that is always on the hunt for something new and interesting to add to his direction. Bending Grid has maintained a strong and steady focus throughout this new album, and it feels as though we are only just cracking the surface of what his plans will be for the months ahead as well.
