Blueprint Tokyo - 'Blue'

7/10

Over these last few years, Oklahoma City's Blueprint Tokyo have been quick to cement themselves as one of the more progressive names on the US scene. Dabbling in a heady mix of classic rock influences that they have refined for a modern ear, their tenure to date has been this wildly explorative adventure that has always looked to build upon the foundations of what has come before. And after another rousing display of delights in recent months, they are back once again to deliver their vibrant new EP 'Blue', a collection that cements those euphoric energies of late.

Featuring the previously shared standout offering 'Mission Control', this new five-track collection sees them pursuing some of their more anthemic textures to date. Creating this wonderfully broad and dense production that sweeps and soars throughout, 'Blue' is the culmination of their more ambitious tendencies to date. Oozing with these warm and emotive tones from start to finish, their newest EP is a fresh and inventive display for raw passion at every turn.

They have certainly been on a winning streak these last few months, but 'Blue' feels so much more comfortable as it plays. Brimming with these riveting grooves that erupt into an impactful array of emotion, Blueprint Tokyo remain one of the more exciting names on the rise right now.
